What is the event?
The Poarch Band of Creek Indians Annual Thanksgiving Pow Wow is a 2-day homecoming celebration that highlights the Tribe’s rich cultural heritage with families, friends and neighbors. Held annually in November, it is our biggest event of the year!
How do I register as a vendor?
Vendor applications are available on the Festival info page.
Is there a lost and found?
Items found during the event are turned into the emcee at the arena.
When is it?
The Poarch Creek Indians Annual Thanksgiving Pow Wow takes place on the day of Thanksgiving and the day after. The 2024 dates are November 28th and 29th.
What are the admission fees?
Tribal Adult Citizens receive 4 two day passes and Tribal Youth Citizens receive 1 two day pass for free. General admission is $10 for a one day pass and $15 for a two day pass.
What are the event hours?
The gates open at 10 am CST both days.
Are there specific times for activities such as the Princess Contest and Grand Entry?
The Tribal Princess Contest takes place on Thursday (November 28th) at 11 am CST. Grand Entry takes place on Thursday (November 28th) at 1 pm CST and Friday (November 29th) at 12 noon CST.
Is there parking available? Where are the designated parking areas?
Yes, there is parking available. There will be staff available to direct you to an open lot. We also provide shuttle services from the parking area to the front gate.
Are shuttles provided?
Yes, shuttles are provided from the parking areas to the front gate.
Is there handicapped parking available?
There is limited handicap parking, but transportation will be provided via shuttle carts and buses.
Are there handicap-accessible seating areas?
Limited handicap bleacher seating is available at the arena.
Is the event cash-only? Is there an ATM onsite?
ATM machines are available but can potentially be affected by wifi connection and limited funds.
Do I need to bring my own chair?
While we do have seating options, they are limited.
What are the daily activities?
On Thursday (November 28th) the gates open at 10 am CST, followed by Mound activities, the Princess Contest, Grand Entry, and Dance and Drum competitions. On Friday (November 29th) the gates open at 10 am CST, followed by Grand entry, Dance and Drum competitions, and announcement of the Dance and Drum contest winners.
What food options are available? Are Indian Tacos offered?
Various food vendors will be onsite to provide a variety of options.
Are traditional Thanksgiving dinners available?
Each year, local churches offer a limited number of Thanksgiving dinner plates.
Where is Dancer Registration?
Online dancer registration is available on the Festival info page until Monday, November 25th. Dancers who do not pre-register may register at the entrance gate on the day of the event.
Can attendees take photographs?
Yes, attendees are permitted to take photographs. However, please ask anyone dressed in regalia permission before photographing them, unless they are in the arena competing.
What do Pow Wow shirts look like? How much do they cost, and how can they be purchased?
Pow Wow T-shirt designs vary each year. The price of a T-shirt is $15 and can be purchased at the T-shirt booth.

Information regarding the Tribal Princess Contest is available on Roundhouse or one may contact the Cultural Department for eligibility.
