The Carnivorous Kingdom explores pitcher plant bogs, the nation’s strangestand most biodiverse landscape, where the plants are the lions and tigers, gobbling up any insects that come near. Shot in 4K, the film investigates this incredibly diverse network of plants in Alabama and at Magnolia Branch, the Poarch Creek Indians’ wildlife reserve. Filmed, directed, edited, and narrated by Ben Raines, the author and filmmaker who discovered the wreck of the Clotilda, the last ship to bring enslaved people to the United States.
