Like many not-for-profit organizations, we’ve had some difficult times because of downturns in the economy. Without Poarch, the YMCA would probably not exist. Having their support is what allows us to continue.”
Chartered in 1995, the Atmore YMCA operates out of the iconic old high school. The YMCA helps nurture the potential of every child and teen and improve the community’s well-being. It is a place where neighbors of all ages come together, where kids learn practical and social skills and develop positive values. Health is fostered and passions old and new are pursued in a supportive environment.
