Growing up, Mindy listened to countless stories of her elders struggling against all odds to give their children better lives. She witnessed the triumph of federal recognition in 1984 that has allowed the Tribe to prosper today. Inspired by the perseverance of her people, Mindy decided to go back and finished college while working and raising three sons. She is guided every day by her ancestors’ core belief that anything is possible with determination, hard work and the support of community.
