Sisters Mallory and Hannah are passionate about their roots. One source of their inspiration is Chief Calvin McGhee’s journey to Washington, DC in the 1960’s where he met with President John F. Kennedy and brought awareness of the Tribe to the federal level. This trip was made long before Poarch achieved federal recognition in 1984, and it was not a trip that he pulled off alone; it took the entire Poarch community to make it happen. Mallory and Hannah carry this story with them. They believe that reinvigorating traditions and keeping the Creek language alive are healing to the community, especially to struggling kids who want to lead a life of purpose and meaning.
