Madison is committed to learning the traditions of her ancient heritage. A longstanding member of the Pow Wow club, she travels to Oklahoma for the Green Corn Ceremony. Once there she jingle dances (a healing dance) in a handmade dress that sounds like rain when she moves, while praying for people in need. Madison is learning the Tribe’s native Mvskoke language, finger weaving and basket weaving. While enthusiastic about a future in sports medicine, her long-term passion project is to reclaim Poarch traditions and to pass them down to future generations.
