“Most of the people we serve are elderly and faced with having to decide whether to buy food, buy their medicine, or even sometimes pay the rent, so they come to us for help. We also serve needy families with children. The Tribe’s giving means so much—when they help just one person get back on their feet, it not only helps that family, it helps the community as a whole. There is a ripple effect.”

—  Lashawn Anthony, Volunteer Counselor, Elmore County Food Pantry

Started in 2008, the Elmore County Food Pantry non-profit helps families struggling with food insecurity. Since 2010, the organization has given away an estimated 1.3 million pounds of food. It currently serves approximately 500 families and gives away close to 30,000 pounds of food per month.
