Take, for example, our IMAX movies: They cost quite a bit to bring in, and Poarch has been there to help make that possible so we can show films in our beautiful dome theater about Mount Everest or movies about what it’s like to live in the age of airplanes. We transport people around the world in that theater, and Poarch has helped make that possible.”
Since its founding more than 30 years ago, the Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center has been sparking visitors’ curiosity about the natural world while deepening an appreciation for the wonders of science. Using technology, tools and hands-on discovery, the Exploreum encourages scientific literacy and helps people better understand the world around them. Over the decades, the Center has become a cornerstone of informal learning in the region.
