The Historical Marker presentation commemorating the Battle of Burnt Corn was a meaningful reminder of the importance of preserving and sharing our rich history.
A sincere thank you to the dedicated representatives from our Regulatory Division, including the Tribal Historic Preservation Office (THPO), Tribal Archives, and Tribal Museum, for their efforts in educating our community and ensuring these important stories continue to be told.
A special thank you to Billy Bailey for sharing the historical significance of the Battle of Burnt Corn and helping us better understand why this event remains an important part of our Tribal history and heritage. Preserving and sharing our history strengthens our connection to our ancestors and ensures future generations understand the journey that has shaped who we are today.
Thank you to all of the Tribal Citizens who came out and participated despite the hot weather. It was especially meaningful to have several of our Tribal Elders in attendance, whose presence reminds us of the importance of passing our history from one generation to the next.
Finally, a huge thank you to three of our Tribal Princesses for attending and representing our Tribe with such pride and grace. Your participation helped make this event even more special.
