Arthur Mothershed

Arthur Mothershed is the Executive Vice President of Business Development and Government Relations for Wind Creek Hospitality. In this position, Mothershed is responsible for identifying acquisition targets and capital projects that are aligned with Wind Creek Hospitality’s vision for strategic growth.  He is also responsible for directing lobbying efforts in various jurisdictions.

In June 2005, Mothershed was elected Treasurer of the nine-member Tribal Council of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. As Treasurer, he established streamlined Tribal Government financial reporting, to provide better decision-making information for the Tribal Council and simplified accountability for Tribal Members.  He has served on various boards and committees both internal and external to the Tribe. Mothershed now serves as an at large Tribal Council Member and is the Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee.

Arthur Mothershed holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Alabama and a bachelor’s degree from Faulkner University. He previously held management positions with the Winn Dixie and Bruno’s corporations.  He was also the CFO for PCI Gaming as well as Creek Indian Enterprises.  He was the General Manager for Wind Creek Atmore prior to assuming his current role.

A true ambassador, Mothershed represents the Tribe and its gaming interests to the public, working with political and community leaders and members of the media. Mothershed’s interest in leadership and Tribal Government stems from a sincere desire to improve the lives of Tribal Members and to strengthen the Tribe’s position as a sovereign and self-sufficient nation. Born and raised in the Poarch Tribal community, he has a particular interest in cultural awareness, assisted living for Tribal elders, universal healthcare for members, and economic development beyond gaming.
