The Poarch Creek Indians works with nonprofit organizations, community partners, and service providers through several charitable giving pathways. The information below is intended to help you understand how these opportunities are structured, where to apply, and what to expect throughout the process. You can also explore stories of community impact to see how this work supports organizations and initiatives across the region.
This pathway is intended for charitable donations, sponsorships, church requests, and other qualifying community support. Requests in this category are submitted through CyberGrants and reviewed through the standard giving process.
These requests begin in CyberGrants but move through a more involved review process. Depending on the request, applicants may need to provide additional information, participate in presentations, or allow more time for final review.
Wind Creek requests follow a separate giving pathway. If your organization is seeking support through Wind Creek, you will be directed to the appropriate application page.
We want the application process to be as clear and accessible as possible for every organization seeking support. Before getting started, please review the information below to learn more about available giving pathways, how requests are submitted and reviewed, expected timelines, and any follow-up requirements that may apply after funding is approved.
Which giving pathway should I choose?
Choose the pathway that best matches the type of support you are requesting and the amount of funding needed.
Requests of $25,000 or less generally fall under the standard community giving process. This may include charitable donations, sponsorships, Tribal church requests, and other qualifying community support.
Requests of more than $25,000 require additional review and may involve internal coordination, leadership review, Tribal Council consideration, presentations, or additional documentation.
Some requests may fall under a separate Wind Creek giving pathway if they relate to Wind Creek’s service areas or hospitality-related giving.
Do I have to apply through CyberGrants?
Charitable giving requests must be submitted through CyberGrants. This helps ensure requests are received, tracked, reviewed, and communicated through a consistent process.
Requests should not be submitted directly through individual Tribal Council members or staff. Submitting through CyberGrants helps avoid delays and ensures the request is routed to the correct review process.
What kinds of requests are accepted?
The Poarch Creek Indians consider several types of charitable giving requests, including:
Each request is reviewed based on eligibility, funding amount, timing, available budget, supporting materials, and alignment with charitable giving priorities.
What is the difference between a donation and a sponsorship?
A donation is generally a charitable contribution made to support an organization, program, project, or community need.
A sponsorship may include event participation, recognition, marketing benefits, logo placement, tickets, speaking opportunities, or other fulfillment requirements.
Sponsorships may require additional coordination after approval, especially when there are benefits or deliverables PCI needs to fulfill.
How are requests of $25,000 or less reviewed?
Requests of $25,000 or less are submitted through CyberGrants and routed for standard review. These requests may include charitable donations, sponsorships, and Tribal church requests.
The Endowment Committee reviews this category on a monthly basis. If approved, the request moves into fulfillment, payment processing, and any required follow-up reporting.
How are requests over $25,000 reviewed?
Requests of more than $25,000 are also submitted through CyberGrants, but they follow a more detailed review process.
These requests may be reviewed internally, prepared for leadership or Tribal Council consideration, and added to a scheduled review cycle. Applicants may be asked to provide more information or participate in a formal presentation.
Because larger requests require more coordination, applicants should allow significant lead time before any event, campaign, or project deadline.
How long does the review process take?
Review timelines depend on the request amount, request type, completeness of the application, and whether additional review is needed.
Requests of $25,000 or less are typically reviewed through the standard monthly process.
Requests over $25,000 may take longer because they can require additional documentation, leadership review, Tribal Council consideration, presentations, legal review, finance coordination, or contract development.
What if my request is time-sensitive?
Include all event dates, campaign deadlines, funding deadlines, and timing needs in your application.
For larger requests, especially those over $25,000, at least 90 days or more may be needed to review and route the request appropriately. If there is not enough lead time, the Poarch Creek Indians may request a timeline extension, refer the request to a smaller funding pathway, decline the request due to timing, or determine whether special review is appropriate.
What information should I prepare before applying?
Applicants should be ready to provide:
Larger or multi-year requests may require additional materials, a formal presentation, legal review, contract terms, or payment schedules.
What happens after I submit my request?
After submission, your request is reviewed for completeness and routed to the correct review process based on request type and amount. The Poarch Creek Indians may contact you through CyberGrants or email if additional information is needed. Once a decision is made, applicants will be notified of the outcome and any next steps.
Submitting a request does not guarantee approval or funding.
What happens if my request is approved?
If approved, the Poarch Creek Indians will provide next steps for payment, fulfillment, sponsorship coordination, reporting, or any additional requirements.
For one-time donations and sponsorships, payment is generally processed through CyberGrants and issued directly to the organization. Sponsorship benefits, if applicable, may be coordinated with the appropriate team.
Will I need to submit an impact report?
Some approved organizations may be required to submit an impact report or follow-up documentation showing how the funding was used. An impact report may be required before an organization is eligible to apply again.
Can I apply more than once?
Organizations may be limited to one application within a calendar year, depending on program guidelines and the type of request. Organizations with previous funding may need to complete required reporting before submitting a new request.
What happens if my request is not approved?
If a request is not approved, it may be due to eligibility, available funding, timing, incomplete information, request type, or alignment with the Poarch Creek Indians’ charitable giving priorities.
Organizations may be able to apply again in the future if they meet the applicable guidelines.
