OUR PEOPLE
Madison McGhee & Blake Crook

Pow Wow gatherings celebrate indigenous culture through rituals such as ceremonial dance. Madison dances “Jingle,” a healing prayer dance dedicated to those who are sick or have passed. Blake dances the Northern Great Plains “Grass Dance” thought to symbolize flattening the grass for a ceremony, dance or battle. The intention and rhythm bring dancers to a place of joy, catharsis and connection.
