In-Person and Online Public Involvement: AL-14 (MLK Parkway) Improvements

Project Overview

Location: Marion (Perry County)

The proposed project is located along AL-14 in the City of Marion, Perry County, Alabama. The project will resurface along AL-14 from west of the Marion City Limits to Green Street and provide 2’ safety widening where there is currently no curb and gutter. Additionally, AL-14 will be restriped from the existing four (4) lanes to three (3) lanes with bike lanes from Green Street to AL-5 in Perry County. This new 3-lane configuration will consist of one through-lane for eastbound and westbound traffic, a continuous left-turn lane, and bike lanes on each side of the roadway. This change will help improve traffic operations and efficiency along the route.

The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.
