2015-2016 Elder Princess: Mary Alice Potts Murphy

Mary Alice Potts Murphy

Mary is the 63 year old daughter of Eula Mae Reid Potts and Robert Clint Potts. Mary was raised in Flatrock, AL and currently lives in Poarch, AL. She has 4 children: Richard, Symantha, Darren, and Devin. She has 2 grandchildren: Sophia and Grayson.

Mary attends church at Community of Christ.

Her favorite childhood memory is playing underneath the house and using wooden blocks for cars.

Her favorite foods are vegetarian pizza, chili, and sushi.

Mary enjoys doing arts and crafts and reading.

Mary is a hard working, retired registered nurse. Mary has enjoyed learning more about her culture and traditions. She has enjoyed taking shell carving and copper classes. Mary has enjoyed learning more about how to bead, make moccasins, basket weaving, and meeting and spending time with everyone on this new journey.

2015-2016 Senior Princess: Breanna Rae Hall

Breanna Rae Hall

Breanna is the 17 year old daughter of Rita and Anthony Hall of Atmore, AL. She is the granddaughter of Ruby Hawkins and the late Frank Flurnoy and Mable Iker and Ray Dean Hall.

Her favorite subjects are English and Literature.

Breanna is a member of the Poarch Creek Tribal Youth Council where she serves as Chair. She was part of the group that pushed to reinstate the Tribal Youth Council last year.

Breanna was selected and participated in the Native Youth White House Gathering, National UNITY Conference, Mid-Year UNITY Conference, and Closeup.

2015-2016 Junior Princess: Makenzie Leigh Martin

Makenzie Leigh Martin

Makenzie is the 14 year old daughter of Jessica and Dusty Martin of Atmore, AL. She is the granddaughter of Beverly Holcomb, John English, and the late Tut and Jody Martin.

Her favorite subjects are History and Spanish.

She is a member of the Poarch Creek Tribal Youth Council and Boys and Girls Club.

Her favorite foods are chicken, enchiladas, her nanny’s biscuits, and her momma’s home cooking.

Makenzie enjoys drawing, cooking, basketweaving, reading, sewing, visiting with elders, and spending time with family and friends. She enjoys playing softball, basketball, and stickball. She enjoys volunteering at many community events.

2015-2016 Elementary Princess: Leah Faith Rolin

Leah Faith Rolin

Leah is the 9 year old daughter old daughter of Tristan Daughtry and Krystal Rolin of Poarch, AL. She is the granddaughter of Norma Jean Rolin, Ray Rolin, Douglas Daughtry, and Sue Sells.

Her favorite subjects are Math and P.E.

Leah is a member of the Boys and Girls Club, Homework Club, and Rising Stars Studio of Dance. She played on the PCI NAYO Softball Team where they won 1st place. She is a member of the 4-H Club where she serves as secretary.

Leah attends Renovation Ministries.

Her favorite foods are spaghetti, strawberries, pork chops, chicken nuggets, French fries, green beans, and corn.

Leah enjoys playing softball, soccer, and dance.

Leah was selected at the 2014-2015 Elementary 1st Alternate. She enjoys participating in the princess contest, because it helps her learn more about her heritage.

2015-2016 Little Miss Princess: Tehya Rolin

Tehya Rolin

Tehya is the 7 year old daughter of Shawn and Stephanie Rolin of Poarch, AL. She is the granddaughter of Buster and Bessie Rolin and Donny and Sandra Nelson. She is the youngest of 35 grandchildren of Buster and Bessie Rolin.

Her favorite subjects are Math and Science.

Tehya is actively involved in the NBYA Youth Soccer League, Poarch Creek Indian Tee Ball and the YMCA of Atmore. She has also participated in the Rising Stars Dance Club, Poarch Creek Indian Cheerleading squad and the Poarch Creek Indian youth basketball team.

She has attended Poarch Community Church and United Pentecostal Church.

Her favorite foods are macaroni and cheese and rice and tomato gravy.

Tehya enjoys running, soccer, swimming, helping her mom, fancy shawl dancing, and spending time with family.

Tehya was on the 2014 A-B Honor roll and 2015 A honor roll. She was crowned 4th in the National American Miss pageant bringing home 8 trophies, she is fluent in Spanish. She has lived in the Poarch community her entire life. Tehya was also honored to serve as first alternate in the 2014 Poarch Creek Indian Little Miss Princess Contest.
