2016-2017 Elder Princess: Linda Colbert Cook
Linda is the 67 year old daughter of Lillian Gibson Colbert and Willis Colbert. Linda was raised in Jeddo, AL and currently lives in Magnolia Springs, AL.
Linda has 4 children: Kim, Jeff, Tonya, and James. She has 2 grandchildren.
Linda attends Popular Springs Baptist Church.
Her favorite childhood memory is swinging outside on the porch swing.
Her favorite food is parched peanuts.
Her favorite hobbies are reading, participating in Creek Traditional Art classes, and studying Creek history, customs, and culture.
Linda is married to James Cook and is retired from the Baldwin County Board of Education with 25 years of service. Both of Linda’s parents are of Creek decent and worked with Calvin McGhee to become federally recognized. Linda has also enjoyed all the Creek Traditional Art classes that have been offered by the Cultural Department.
2016-2017 Senior Princess: Mallory Olivia Gibson
Mallory is the 17 year old daughter of Steve and Kristy Gibson of Bratt, FL. She is the granddaughter of the late Martez Dortch and JC Dortch, Debbie Barlow, and Billy Joe Gibson.
She is in the 12th grade at Northview High School.
Her favorite subject is History.
Mallory has been on the cheerleading squad for 4 years and now serves as Captain of Northview’s Varsity Cheerleading team and has been the Vice-President of her class for the past 4 years. She is also on the track and weight lifting team, member of the Student Government Association and Business Professionals of America.
She attends First Baptist Church of Bratt, Florida.
Her favorite foods are pasta, seafood, and cookie cake.
Mallory enjoys going to the beach, paddle boarding, cheering, running, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Mallory volunteers as a mini cheerleader coach, she was recognized by UCA as an All-American Cheerleader and will be performing in the London New Year’s Day Parade. She has worked the past two summers with the Poarch Boys & Girls Club and is on the Honor Roll at Northview High School. She also represented her class on the 2016 Homecoming Court.
2016-2017 Junior Princess: Sehoye Rose Buckley
Sehoye is the 13 year old daughter of Bridgett Buckley and Anthony Peebles of Atmore, AL. She is the granddaughter of Rickie and Rose Coon and Lester and Sharon Peebles.
Sehoye’s loves school and all subjects.
She is a member of the Pow Wow Club, Poarch 4-H, and her school Choir and Drama Club.
Sehoye attends New Home Church.
Her favorite foods are pizza, chicken, and macaroni and cheese.
Sehoye enjoys raising and showing livestock, horseback riding, jingle and fancy dancing, school, running, soccer, archery, softball, 4-square, and writing stories, and stickball.
Sehoye loves to dance and spending time with her friends and family, and loves smiles.
2016-2017 Elementary Princess: Karlie McKenna Pettis
McKenna is the 11 year old daughter of Roy Pettis and Carla and Andrew Hammonds of Atmore, AL. She is the granddaughter of Mary and the late Benny McGhee and the late Leroy and Annie Mae Pettis.
McKenna’s favorite subjects are Math and Science.
She is a member of the Boys and Girls Club of the Poarch Creek Indians.
McKenna attends First Assembly of God.
Her favorite foods are Indian tacos and macaroni and cheese.
McKenna enjoys playing softball, volleyball, soccer and swimming.
McKenna would love to learn more about her Native American history.
2016-2017 Little Miss Princess: Emmee Gracyn Hayes
Emmee is the 5 year old daughter of Mallory and Justin Rolin and Curtis Hayes of Poarch, AL. She is the granddaughter of Phillip and Denise Young, Rayford and Norma Jean Rolin and Charlene McGhee and Jimmy Hayes. She is the great granddaughter of Jackie Smith & Pearline McGhee, and the great-great granddaughter of Ernestine Daughtry & Lucille Sells.
Emmee’s favorite subject is Reading (well, trying to).
She enjoys learning Creek language, and can say her colors, numbers, and sing some songs in the Creek language.
Emmee also enjoys dancing, singing, playing, spending time with family, and playing wee ball.
Emmee attends First Assembly of Bay Minette.
Her favorite food is pizza.
